U.T.I. at Black Betty's

UTILocal tech-metal masters Under The Influence (UTI) will play their first show for 2009 on Sunday 12th April @ Black Bettys, Northbridge.
Supports Include Chaos Divine, Opia and Ravior. Building from a successful Black Bettys show in April 2008, UTI are back with a bigger production and some new tunes for punters to feast their ears on! The three piece have been notably absent from the local scene for some time due to the writing and recording of their third album due out later this year.

Their performance will feature songs from previous albums, “UTI I”, “UTI II”, plus a few examples from their yet to be released third album titled, “The Brutal Harsh Honest Truth”

Vulture Culture Film: Featuring Pathogen, 11th He Reaches London & 5 Star Prison Cell

"Vulture Culture" is a dark psychedelic comedy that pays homage to the works of Kubrick, Cameron and Lynch whilst exploring the human condition for over consumption. The films soundtrack is scored by Perth composer Christopher de Groot and includes the homegrown sounds of Pathogen, Sunshine Brothers, Eleventh He Reaches London, Randa and the Soul Kingdom and Melbourne's Five Star Prison Cell.

They are aiming to make this the biggest short film premiere in Perth's history and need the metal community represented there.
Check out the trailer at www.vultureculture.com.au or view it on Youtube at:

The film premieres on March 14th at the Astor theater in Mt Lawley.
Doors open at 7:45 and the film starts at 8:00.
After Party: Flying Scotsman from about 8:30 onwards.

Red Descending Video Clips

I've just added a few more music video clips to the Western Front media section - three cool tracks by Red Descending. They've already had some airplay on Rage on ABC but if you haven't seen them, or you're unfamiliar with Red Descending's work you should definitely check them out here. They are well shot and edited, and Fragile Nation even has a bit of a storyline to it so it's an interesting view.

Western Front Awards '08/'09 Nominations now open

This stage is just the nomination period, and then from that will be created a voting form to select from the top nominees.
