Thanks to Teeman we have a couple of new gig reviews on the site - one for the Ill Vision cd launch from a couple of weeks back, which has already been online for a while, and now I've just added another one for the'Cord and Chaos Christmas show from the weekend just gone. Also, I'll just take this opportunity to wish everyone the best for the Christmas period and have a happy new year! This year has been an awesome one for metal in Australia - a heap of fantastic touring acts coming through as well as plenty of homegrown talent doing a great job with their own shows and putting out some top releases. Every year gets better and better for metal and I'm sure 2009 will be no exception.

There are some cool shows for this festive season as well - the Boxing Day Massacre,  Santa SLAM and hope to see you all at the Charles Hotel to ring in the new year at the Metal Meltdown to 2009.

The Association for Australian Heavy Metal (AAHM) and the Australian Metal Awards (AMA) were formed to give Heavy Metal in Australia an extra boost in support and backing, and to reward and recognise the bands that have made a significant contribution to the Heavy Metal genre of Australian music.

Submission are now open for the 2009 Australian Metal Awards and application forms are available from the website: www.australianmetal.com.au

Each week a band will be selected from those that have submitted an application to be featured on the site, and applications close on the 27th of February.
