Western Front Awards '09/'10 - NOMINATIONS

Ok, I've been busy with a few things so I hadn't gotten around to it before but now I've started up the nomination period for the next Western Front metal awards. To have your say or lodge your nominations just head to the forum (this thread in particular) and put down who you would like to see in the running.

The nominees for each category will be compiled from that and a short list made up for everyone to vote for their favourite choice. As always later in the year there will be the huge awards ceremony where the winners will be revealed.

The Evolution Machine is here...

Evolution Machine is a new band that is about to emerge onto the metal scene, with their first show on the 13th of February. The band is a supergroup of sorts, consisting of members from previous accomplished metal acts. To find out the dirt check out the new interview with them that I've just put up on Western Front, for the lead up to their upcoming show.

To check them out, head down to the Civic Hotel in Inglewood, on Saturday the 13th of February, 2010. Supporting their maiden expedition will be Voyager and Lacrymae. You can have a look at the gig guide for the full details of the show.

Neverborn "Decimator" Album Launch

The greatly anticipated 3rd album by Neverborn has been a while in the making, but it is finally here and by all accounts it was well worth the wait! From what I've seen it is looking slick and sounds amazing - the production is great and the song writing has taken things to a new level. If you're familiar with their stuff then you won't be disappointed, and if you're not or if you've only heard some of their older stuff then prepare to be blown away by the "Decimator"!

The album is officially being launched this Saturday, the 23rd of January, and it is also an event not to be missed. It's all happening at the refurbished Villa (formerly known as Heat nightclub - 187 Stirling St, Perth), with a number of top quality support acts in Enforce, Gallows For Grace, Sins Of The Father and Pale As Ashes. Neverborn always put their all into their shows but expect something special on the night - I don't want to give away too much, but I've heard there will be insane props, dancing girls, and the usual crazy stage antics. Check out the gig guide for full details.

In the lead up to the show the Anger Management radio program did an interview with Jez Devereux (keyboards/backing vocals), and it was quite an entertaining and amusing listen. We have the audio of the interview up on Western Front now so check it out in the audio interview section.

Australian Metal Awards 2009 - Photos

I've now added a WF photo gallery, which I had been meaning to do for a while now, and what a way to start it off - with photos from the 2009 Australian Metal Awards which happened just over a week ago.

There are some top shots there so head over to the photo album and check it out: http://www.wf.com.au/wfalbum/
