Well the Australian Metal Awards night happened in Sydney this weekend gone and I was glad to be there to witness it. There was a cross section of different bands playing, awards presented (Deryk Thomas from W.A's Anger Management radio show stepped up to the plate as MC for the night at late notice) and met some cool people. Huge appreciation should go to Matt Willis and Natalie Meisenhelter for both the organisation of the judging / voting process, and the large task of putting together the night itself.

Hopefully it is the first of many, and that it helps to give greater exposure to Australian metal. Well Soundworks have done it again - another massive tour for us lucky folk downunder. Decapitated are back!  Bands like Decapitated don't come along very often, having created a vicious, precise and innovative form of death metal since their inception in 1996. Soundworks Touring are extremely pleased  to announce their first shows back, in Australia and New Zealand, to deliver to us all their distinctive brand of technically flawless death metal.

As you would know the Arch Enemy and Suffocation Australian tour is set to kick off, starting off in Perth this Sunday. So here is a nice warm up - we have an audio interview with Mike Smith from Suffocation. Deryk Thomas of the Anger Management radio show got a good length of time with Mike, so it's one to check out.
